Welcome to Exmoor Trim

The UK based Company developing and manufacturing trim parts for the Land Rover market with a passion for quality at the heart of what we do.

Exmoor Trim was originally founded by Julian Gostling in the mid 1990’s and became a limited company in 2002.

Julian was the third generation of the Gostling family to work with Land Rovers. In 1946 Julian’s Grandad, Bert Gostling joined Land Rover as employee number 11.

Bert was part of the development team that worked on the prototype center steer vehicle that evolved into the Series 1. As was commonplace in those days, Bert’s son Lew followed in his dad’s footsteps and joined the company in 1969 working in the Experimental Trim department.

Lew was tasked with developing new materials and seats for various new Land Rover vehicles and was involved in the development of the interior trim for the Range Rover Classic with its Kit Kat seats.

As retirement approached for Lew, he set up a manufacturing business called Trakkers where he manufactured the canvas hoods he had designed.

This business his son Julian would eventually take over and relocate the production to Luxborough which is located on Exmoor. Soon after Trakker’s became Exmoor Trim.

The factory at Luxborough was soon outgrown and in 2002 Exmoor Trim started manufacturing its growing range of products from its own purpose-built factory based in Williton Somerset.

The production building has now been expanded several times over the last 20 years and we are very proud of our close knit and loyal team that all live locally, making us one of the largest employers in the area.

The business has built up a solid reputation over the years for producing high quality seating and trim product with a truly global customer base.

In October 2022 Exmoor Trim became an employee-owned company with all employees owning an equal share in the business whilst employed. This progressive change has had a profoundly positive impact on the culture within the business making us stronger for the future.
